Our family

Neurogan grew out of the heart of our co-founder Jan Brandrup. Hailing from Funen, Denmark, he first encountered the remarkable powers of cannabis as a child. Every day, his grandmother Karen would pull a glass jar of cannabis from the cabinet and brew herself a warm cup of tea. He watched in awe as her life force was restored through simple plant medicine. This experience sparked his fascination with cannabis and, ultimately, the desire to spread its healing properties. Today, our family continues Grandma Karen’s tradition of using cannabis for healing in San Diego, California, where our world-class team creates all of our products using CO2 extraction to produce CBD goodness that boasts the integrity of nature.

History of Neurogan

As Ian began to delve deeper into the etiology of hemp, he became fascinated by its rich roots that stretch back into human history. He learned that hemp is one of the most important and resilient agricultural plants in existence. It is used to make rope and animal feed, grows in almost any environment without fertilizer, helps the environment, contains powerful vitamins and nutrients, and has the ability to heal and relieve pain.

In Scandinavia

In 2015, Jan approached a family member in Denmark with the idea of turning his corn farm into a hemp farm. Now, Neurogan hemp is grown in March and harvested in September each year. And hemp is nothing new to the Scandinavian region. In fact, it has been growing and thriving in the region since the Viking Age over 1,000 years ago. We proudly continue this tradition by harvesting our hemp outdoors in the pristine Danish countryside, without the use of greenhouses, chemicals or GMOs. We hope that with Neurogan hemp, our customers can share in our Danish tradition of “hygge” by enjoying the simple things in life.
