CBD Oil Isolate 20% is a concentrated product based on pure cannabidiol isolate. Unlike full-spectrum oils or broad-spectrum extracts, isolate does not contain any other cannabinoids, terpenes or flavonoids. This is a fundamental difference for those who want to get exclusively CBD without any accompanying compounds of the Cannabis sativa plant.
A concentration of 20% means that a 10 ml bottle contains about 2000 mg of pure cannabidiol. For comparison: standard oils on the market most often have 5-10%, so 20% falls into the category of highly concentrated products. This affects both the cost of one dose and the approach to dosing.
The base oil is usually MCT oil (from coconut) or hemp seed oil. MCT provides better bioavailability of CBD when taken sublingually, while hemp oil adds its own nutrient profile. You can check the composition of a specific product in the product card or in the quality certificate.
Isolate 20% oil is aimed at several categories of users. Firstly, these are people with experience using CBD, who have already gone through lower concentrations and want to increase the dose without increasing the volume of oil used. Secondly, those for whom maximum purity of the composition is important - for example, due to sensitivity to other plant compounds or personal beliefs.
A separate audience is people who are tested for THC content (for example, as required by their employer or sports federations). Isolate offers the lowest risk of detecting traces of THC, as all other cannabinoids are removed during the manufacturing process. However, even isolate does not provide a 100% guarantee for some types of tests - this is worth considering.
For beginners who have never tried CBD, a 20% concentration may be too much to start with. It is best to start with 5% or 10%, work out your individual reaction, and only then move on to higher concentrations.
At 20% concentration, one drop of oil contains approximately 6-7 mg of CBD (depending on the specific manufacturer and dropper). This means that even 3-4 drops already provide a noticeable dose. This is why the dosing approach here is different than with 5% oils.
The basic principle is to start with a minimum. 1-2 drops under the tongue in the morning or evening, hold for 60-90 seconds before swallowing. This sublingual technique allows CBD to be partially absorbed through the mucous membrane, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract, which accelerates the onset of action.
If after 7-10 days the effect is insufficient, the dose can be increased by 1 drop. A sharp increase in the dose does not accelerate the result, but increases the risk of undesirable reactions - nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth. This is not a medical recommendation, but the general logic of working with concentrated CBD products.
The oil can also be added to food or drinks, but the bioavailability is lower than when taken sublingually. Hot drinks accelerate the breakdown of some compounds, so it is better to add it to warm rather than hot drinks.
The first criterion is the presence of a CoA (Certificate of Analysis) from an independent laboratory. This document confirms the real concentration of CBD, the absence of THC above the permissible level, as well as the absence of heavy metals, pesticides and microbiological contaminants. If the manufacturer does not provide a CoA, this is a reason for doubt.
The second criterion is the type of base. MCT oil is neutral in taste and is well absorbed. Hemp seed oil has a characteristic green flavor and its own nutrient profile, but is less neutral for those who are sensitive to taste. Both options work - a matter of personal preference.
The third point is the packaging. Dark glass protects CBD from degradation by light better than clear plastic. The dropper must be precise - when the drop is unstable in size, the dosage becomes unpredictable.
The 10 ml bottle is a compact format, convenient for daily use and transportation. With regular use of 3-5 drops per day, the bottle lasts for about a month. This helps to plan purchases in advance.
Full-spectrum oils contain the entire cannabinoid and terpene profile of the plant, including traces of THC (usually up to 0.2%). The synergy of the compounds is thought to enhance the effect - the so-called entourage effect. But this means a less predictable composition and a higher risk for those who avoid THC.
Isolate is devoid of the entourage effect, but it offers maximum predictability. You know for sure that you are getting only CBD and nothing else. For people who are new to cannabinoids or have sensitivities to certain compounds, this predictability may be more important than theoretical synergy.
Broad-spectrum is a middle ground: it contains a variety of cannabinoids but no THC. For many users, it’s a compromise between isolate and full spectrum. Which form to choose depends on your priorities and previous experience.
CBD is a relatively stable compound, but it degrades under the influence of three factors: heat, light and oxygen. Optimal storage conditions are a dark place at a temperature of 5 to 25 degrees Celsius. A refrigerator is suitable if the oil does not freeze and the dropper remains functional.
Do not leave the bottle open longer than necessary for dosing. Close the cap tightly after each use. Direct sunlight accelerates the oxidation of the oil and reduces the effectiveness of the product even after a few weeks.
The expiration date is indicated on the packaging - usually 12-24 months from the date of manufacture. After opening, it is recommended to use within 6-12 months. If the oil has changed color, smell or consistency - this is a signal that the product may have degraded.
